# Deposits

A **Deposit** is a single inbound transfer of money into your Chariot Processing account. A deposit can point at the [Source](../sources/overview) that sent it, and can link to one or more [Donations](../donations/overview) that account for the funds.

Use Deposits to:

* See what money has landed in your account and when.
* Reconcile the funds against the individual donations they represent.
* Trace a deposit back to the payer, the payment rail (ACH, check, wire, account transfer), and the underlying bank record.
